Bluthe Family Reunion

I literally cheered when I heard this bit of news today, Arrested Development is coming back! I watched an interview with Will Arnett today on  The Talk and he mentioned that the show will start with a nine-ten mini-series leading up to the MOVIE!!!!! A.D. fell off the map in 2006 so I had lost hope that I would ever see Michael, George-Michael, oh my gosh Buster again. The mini-series is a Netflix exclusive which is great for those of us who use the movie service. I may just have to have a marathon before it begins. All of the old episodes are on instant play through Netflix as well. So now I leave you with a clip from The Chicken Dance episode...

My Vawentine and Our Financial Diet

This is me and my sweetie before Christmas time.

Brian and I are going to be celebrating our 5th Valentine's Day together and our first one as a married couple! I just really felt the need to say how fantastic this man is. Last year was one of the toughest years for me, career wise. I changed jobs twice and then ultimately left my career as a Massage Therapist to pursue my Bachelor's in Communication. Brian encouraged and supported me every step of the way. I work part time and attend school on-line. I am just so thankful for a man who believes in me. I was terrified of the financial repercussions of my decision to leave healthcare. Now I'm crazy busy with school and my little job and hobbies and I have never been happier in my life! I took a pay cut, yes, but the true reward will be when I am receive that B.A. and move toward a career in media relations. I owe so much to Brian for being my rock through it all. So, thank you Bee for all you do.

That leads me to another point...Brian is a school teacher and I said earlier I work part time with an occasional massage here and there, so money is tight. I want to take ya'll with us through this financial diet as we slim our expenses and have fun doing it :) Most of my posts have consisted of products and clothing I've purchased recently. I wanted to let ya'll know this will not be the norm. My goal with this blog was to showcase living within your means and being fabulous while doing it! So from now on, all styling will be done with items I have already purchased or have found during a monthly thrifting trip. I will allot $20 for one month's worth of looks. Every quarter I will invest in a high end or new piece that can carry the wardrobe into the next season. I will also keep ya'll privy to fun goings on about town that are free or purse friendly.

Brush It Off

Here's a little peak into some products I bought from Drugstore.com. I got an adorable set of Kabuki brushes by EcoTools. This inspired me to do a mini-tutorial on brush care. High end make up tools are pricey but will prove worth it as long as you clean them thoroughly and often.

Devil In a Blue Dress

I went Goodwill hunting with my bestie Hannah. Matt Damon wasn't there but I found this fabulous blue dress! It's a thrift store find so the brand is irrelevant but the fabric is so comfy. I think this would be cute hemmed up for spring/summer. However, mid-length skirts are very in right now so I may leave it as is. I have the dress styled with a black belt but I wanted to show ya'll this fancy belt I found the same day I got the dress. It is very silver and I love it with cooler colors but I really wanted to show it off.

*Chloe really wanted to be in these shots. In fact I cropped her out of most of them.

Working It Out

Fitness - Fit In Diss, Fit In Dat

In 2010 after my dream boat proposed I was determined I would not spend another year overweight and unhappy. Now, understand that I am in no way a self deprecating individual. I may find myself lingering in the mirror after a pair of jeans I just loved no longer fit or I find my stand by LBD is now super L; but I have always refused to turn that frustration inward. I recall Brian saying "As long as you're not morbidly obese then I don't care". D'awwww. Well that's when I realized if he doesn't care and I don't give two flips what the peanut gallery thinks then who am I disappointed in? Uh, duh! Me! I am mad at myself because I have this amazing love for my temple and I am not appreciating it. So, here I am two years later and I finally understand. I want to change for my well being. For my future. I don't want to be skinny, I don't desire to fit in to someone else's body image. I yearn to test myself. To push my limits and find an inner strength I have yet to tap into. So I dusted off my running shoes and stuffed myself into my gymmies. It's been two weeks since my fitness epiphany and I haven't looked back. Something just clicked. I truly feel every other weight loss kick of mine was just that. This is something different, true change. So here's to loving the body God graced me with. Controlling my weight so that I can keep up with my athletic Husband and our baby beagle. I pray that anyone that reads this and is considering starting a workout routine to contact me! Really! We are social creatures and encouragement is as much fuel as protein. So to heck with fitting in to this or fitting into that just fit into your own self.
